There's something truly magical about capturing life's precious moments, and Zora's first birthday was no exception! On a beautiful evening at Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen, we celebrated Zora's milestone with a family photo session that will be cherished for years to come.

The Perfect Evening for Family Photos

After having to reschedule twice due to unpredictable weather, it was definitely worth the wait. As the sun began to set, painting the sky with hues of pink and gold, we found ourselves in the perfect setting for this special occasion. The beach's serene backdrop provided a stunning canvas for our photographs, reflecting the warmth and love of Zora's family.

Coordinated Joy: Outfits and Props

A big shoutout to Zora's mom, Tannu, who did an incredible job coordinating the family's outfits and props. From the matching pastel shades to the charming accessories, every detail was thoughtfully chosen to complement the natural beauty of Centennial Beach. These thoughtful touches added an extra layer of cohesiveness and charm to the photos, making them all the more memorable.

We began the session with family portraits, capturing the genuine smiles and laughter shared among Zora, her parents, and her siblings. Welcoming a new baby into your family is like watching a story unfold right before your eyes—and I had the joy of capturing these golden moments for a wonderful family right here in my Tsawwassen home studio!

That's why I'm here to share the sweet story of Millie's newborn photo session and how, amid the whirlwind of diapers and late-night lullabies, we pressed pause to capture memories that'll be in your heart for a lifetime.

I've had the pleasure of capturing this family's journey through my lens for a few years now—talk about job perks, right?! From capturing Clint's first birthday, and now, I get to introduce you to the newest member, baby Millie (I just LOVE the name).

Newborn photography in Tsawwassen isn't just about snapping pictures; it's about telling a story , each interaction, every tiny hand hold and yawn. And sweet Millie? She was a natural, wide eyed and alert through most of the session, and comfortable in my home studio.

"You never understand life until it grows inside of you." – Isn't that the truth? This photoshoot was worth the excited racing around the studio, and the laughter of a family enjoying their newest member.

Extended Family Photos at Centennial Beach: The Love of Three Generations

Family is everything. Nothing is more important than the memories we create with people we call our family. That's why capturing those moments is so important, and it's exactly what we did during our recent extended family photo session in Tsawwassen at Centennial Beach. The summer sunset was the perfect backdrop for three generations of family members, including grandma and grandpa with their grandkids. We were able to capture some beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.

Centennial Beach was the perfect setting for our family photo shoot. The sun was slowly setting, casting a warm glow over everything. We started off by capturing some candid shots of the grandkids playing in the sand and splashing in the water. You could see the pure joy in their faces, and it was evident that they were having a blast. We also took some posed shots of the family as a whole, and individual family members. As the sun started to set, we headed to the ocean for some candid photos.

The grandparents were a delight to photograph - just look at them! They were beaming with pride as they posed with their grandkids. It was clear to see just how much they cherished their family. The kids were having a blast with their grandparents, and it was obvious that they had a close bond.

As the session went on, the family grew more and more comfortable. They started to have fun with the poses and truly let their personalities shine. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time.

Capturing family memories is so important. They serve as a record of the love and connection we share with those closest to us. Our extended family photo session in Tsawwassen was a testament to that. The family was so happy to be together, and it was evident in the beautiful photos we captured. The warm summer sunset at Centennial Beach made for the perfect backdrop for three generations of family members to create lasting memories. I hope these photos will be cherished for years to come and will serve as a reminder of the love and connection shared by this family.

Spanish Banks Family Photos | Vancouver, BC | Community Photography

I first met Jeannine and Kevin two years ago when I did their son’s maternity photos. When I met them the first time it was a beautiful mid-summer evening at Centennial Beach and we had a perfect pastel night to photograph. For their daughters maternity session, it was March, colder and we had a toddler in the mix!

We met up at Spanish Banks in the morning after already having rescheduled due to poor weather. Even though the forecast was calling for rain, it held off during our shoot and we were able to capture some really cool skies! It was a grey, foggy, morning and made for completely different photos from the last shoot which was great!

At the start of the shoot they let me know that their son loves to cuddle mom and dad – and so that’s what we did! I didn’t want to force anything unnatural for the photos and they were so happy to roll with it and so easygoing with each other. They were such a dream to photograph!

To the Shaw family, thank you guys so much for choosing me again to be your family photographer to capture both of your maternity sessions. I look forward to our next session together once and meet your baby girl once she arrives!

Centennial Beach Extended Family Photo Session | Tsawwassen, BC

Whenever I take photos with Kayla Ann I always know it's going to be a great session. I’ve bee lucky enough to take her daughters newborn photos and fast forward one year and her little girl is one! She's amazing at bringing together all the pieces to create a perfect photo session...outfits for the family, hair and makeup done, and most importantly, she’s ready to enjoy the session and her time in front of the camera! This was a super special photo session for a couple of reasons 1.) because it was her beautiful daughter, Emery's 1st birthday AND 2.) She had her family visiting Tsawwassen and this would be an extended family session, hurray for being able to travel in Canada again!

I met up with her family down at Centennial Beach an hour before sunset. It was another hot summer evening here in Tsawwassen but luckily it was starting to cool down a little. We began the photo session with Emery’s birthday cake photos. Following, we began with the family photos. The whole family was so photogenic, it made my job SO easy :) I loved capturing the grandparents with their granddaughter and all three generations together. We had a perfect sunset and ended up with our toes in the water..my favourite way to end a photo session!

Fraser River Maternity Photos | Ladner, BC | Community Photography South Delta

This maternity session was a special one for me. The dreamy girl you see in the photos is one of my best friends! It’s such an amazing things watching your friends who you’ve experienced so much life with make the transition into motherhood. And it’s EXTRA special when you’re able to document it through photos.

The day leading up to Meghan’s maternity photos were cold and wet in South Delta. The weather forecast was calling for rain all day with sunny breaks at sunset. These type of unpredictable days are such a gamble…you’ll either have rainy looking photos OR if the sun breaks through, the most beautiful sunset. As I was driving down the highway from Tsawwassen to Ladner, the sun broke through the clouds and I knew we were in for a great sunset that night.

We took Meghan’s maternity photos down by the Fraser River in Ladner. Meghan arrived looking amazing (as always) and she chose two dresses from my client wardrobe to wear. We spent the next hour taking her photos, laughing and exploring the area. The sunset was AMAZING and it totally complimented her beautiful baby bump.

So much love for this momma and feeling so blessed I was able to capture it on camera :)

Tsawwassen Newborn Photos with the Findlay Family

Lifestyle newborn sessions are my favourite! My goal is to capture all the snuggles, love and soft moments shared between a family in the first couple of weeks after baby comes home from the hospital. I had a perfect Saturday morning with the Findlay family after their beautiful baby girl Emery (LOVE this baby name!) came into the world!

I loved this session for so many reasons. First, Mom Kayla - Ann was amazing at preparing all the small details for the session that make such a BIG difference in photos. She had her hair and makeup done before the session, she brought two outfits, one casual and one a little more dressed up with added an amazing variety to their photo gallery and had a few different pattered swaddles that brought in amazing accent colors. Second, the dynamics between Mom and Dad was amazing! Both so photogenic and the way they moved together I really didn’t need to give much direction. They were both so relaxed infront of the camera and with each other. Lastly, baby Emerey was a DREAM baby to photograph! She slept for most of the session and when she was awake was not fussy, just wanting to be cuddled by mom and dad.

Mom and Dad looked happy, at ease and in love. Grandma arrived at the end of the photo session for some beautiful moment with her grand daughter and daughter.. I loved capturing the three generations all together.

Centennial Beach Family Photos with the Marelic Family | Tsawwassen, BC

I hope this blog post brings you a little sunshine on such a classic Vancouver snow day! This family photo session was taken on a balmy summer evening last summer. It was the first day the Washington State wildfire smoke rolled into Tsawwassen. I was on the phone earlier in the day with Mom Chelsea (of Plasma Skin Pro - side note, she gives the BEST manicures and facials too!) and we even considered cancelling because of the smoke…and I’m sure glad we didn’t. The smoke, as unfortunate as the wildfires were :( made for really pretty lighting for their family photo session.

I met up with the Marelic family at Centennial Beach just as golden hour was approaching. I LOVED the dress Chelsea had chosen to wear and her two girls were in the most beautiful dresses from Little Luxe Children’s Boutique in South Surrey. Chelsea had also brought the most gorgeous flower crowns from Our Little Flower Company. Small details like flower crowns always make for the most memorable photos!

We spent the next hour hanging out at Centennial Beach, playing in the water and the Marelic family just enjoyed time being together! So much love between these four and it was so great being able to capture these moments on camera for them.

Boundary Bay Family Photos with the MacKenzie's | Tsawwassen, British Columbia

The BEST family photos are when the parents embrace the moment with their kids and let go of perfection. This way, it allows for so many beautiful candid moment and your kids feel comfortable to be themselves. Their personality is what I want to capture and when parents go with the flow and enjoy the moment, kids shine so bright! And that is just what happened with Kristin from ‘Birth with Kristin’ and her husband Shawn. They embraced the beautiful chaos that 3 kids under 5 brings. Their patience and easy nature made for a memorable photo session. Kristin even made a comment that she was just happy her daughter didn’t wear her Spider Man costume to the session..but if she had..so be it :)

It was a beautiful summer night in August when I met the MacKenzie family in Boundary Bay for their family photos. Not a cloud in the sky and warm temperature, even after the sun went down. We started with their photo shoot with youngest son Ace’s cake smash photos. I had taken Ace’s newborn photos last year (you can check them out here!) and I can’t believe it was already his 1st Birthday! We got some great shots of him digging into his cake and even BETTER shots once his two older sister joined in the fun!

After his cake smash and a quick outfit change (the girls were wearing the cutest Rylee & Cue dresses from Buttercups Children’s Boutique in Ladner), we headed down to the beach in Tsawwassen for more family photos. The night had a perfect sunset and the family had fun with each other, laughing, cuddling and in the end climbing onto a log that had washed ashore.

To the Mackenzie family, you guys are seriously SO much fun to take photos with. Your calm and loving energy is so present it shows in all your photos. I hope we can do it again soon!
