Capturing Ben's First Birthday | Cake Smash | Tsawwassen Family Photographer

Baby Ben's first birthday was a special milestone and his family wanted to capture this moment with a photography session. Luckily for them, I'm a Tsawwassen-based family photographer who specializes in capturing these precious moments!

We started off the session with portraiture shots of Baby Ben on his own, then moved onto bringing in the rest of the family for some beautiful group shots. He was all smiles during our time together and everyone had such a great time!

To end off our wonderful session, we did an adorable cake smash that absolutely melted my heart. Even though he had never experienced one before, Baby Ben took to it so naturally - it seemed like he'd done it many times before! It was so much fun to watch him enjoy his first birthday cake and celebrate with everyone present.

The photography session of Baby Ben on his first birthday was truly a special one - I'm so honored that I had the privilege of capturing this moment for him and his family! It's moments like these that remind me why I love what I do, and why being a family photographer in Tsawwassen is such an amazing job.

I'm sure Baby Ben will always look back at these photos fondly when he gets older - they'll be reminders of how loved he has been from the very beginning!

Capturing the Ward Family: A Family Photoshoot Experience at Community Baby Studio in Tsawwassen

Photographing a family can be a beautiful and rewarding experience, especially when the family is as warm and loving as the Wards. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing them in my new home photography studio, and it was an absolute delight. Their calm, kind, and positive energy made the whole session such a wonderful experience, especially as baby sister giggled at her big sister during the shoot. I am excited to share with you my experience of capturing the beauty of the Ward family during our family photoshoot at Community Baby Studio in Tsawwassen.

As soon as the Wards entered my studio, I could feel their positive energy and love for each other. It was easy to see the special bond between the sisters as they laughed and interacted. The Ward family came prepared with outfits that matched perfectly, which worked beautifully in creating a stunning family portrait. During the shoot, we used various props and backdrops to create a fun and fresh atmosphere. The playful expressions and smiles of the Ward family were truly a joy to capture.

We started the session with some playful shots of the sisters together, big sister was so excited and giggled throughout the entire shoot. The love between them was evident, and it made the photoshoot all the more magical.

Next, we moved on to the beautiful family portraits. Every family is unique, and the Wards are no exception. We caught some amazing group shots that really captured their love and joy for each other. Incorporating the natural light of the studio, we were able to bring out the warmth and beauty that radiated from their family.

As the session continued, I noticed that the little one was getting a bit fussy. So, instead of trying to force more poses from the babies, we decided to focus on capturing candid shots of her and momma interacting in a natural way. This approach created some of the most beautiful moments of the session: authentic, loving, and sincere shots of the family enjoying spending time together.

Photographing the Ward family was such an enjoyable experience. The love that they shared for each other and the positive energy they brought to the studio made the session full of laughter and magic. Community Baby Studio in Tsawwassen provided the perfect backdrop to capture the beauty of the Ward family. Through our session, we were able to capture not just pictures, but moments in time that they will cherish for years to come. As a photographer, I feel so blessed to have been a part of the Ward family's story, and I hope to capture more stories just like theirs in the future. To all the moms out there, cherish your loved ones and don't forget to capture these precious moments on film. They are moments that will last a lifetime.

My photography studio in Tsawwassen is the perfect spot for a first birthday portrait session for your little one. The natural light studio in my home is simplistic, allowing you to focus on what’s really important, your beautiful baby! My goal is to capture your littles in a timeless way. Creating portraits that you’ll print for your walls for years to come. The outfits provided are sourced from the best baby clothing companies from around the world.

All of the cake smash sessions come with a white custom cake and stand allowing it a stress free experience for mom and a cake I know will photograph beautifully.

The session time is 45 minutes and 2 outfit changes. The first half an hour we will take portraits of your baby with simple props I provide (and you get to choose). The last 15 minutes of the session is the cake smash.

I encourage printing of the portraits to be on fine art paper for a timeless look.

Wells Family Photos | Centennial Beach, Tsawwassen

We had the Wells family photo shoot originally scheduled in Tsawwassen for March 21st. Due to a world pandemic, it was postponed. That feels like such a crazy sentence to write and I sometimes need to pinch myself that the past 3 months actually happened! It was a dark time for me and my business as Covid-19 hit the news, every one of my bookings was cancelled or postponed. At the time, I had no idea if the shoots would be postponed a couple weeks, a month or a year? Even when restrictions started to ease, would people want to book a family photoshoot with me? And thankfully the answer is yes! I think after being on lockdown for three months, people have seen the importance of their family unit and are ready to capture memories on camera. Also, Moms are now looking for an excuse to do their hair and put on mascara :)

I was so thankful when mom Lyndsay reached out to me and told me she was ready to have their family photos taken. We met up in Boundary Bay for their photos on a perfect May evening. The 'perfect May evening' was not in the forecast. I'm not sure if anyone else is noticing this but the Weather Network's predictions are just bananas these days! Changing constantly, always calling for rain and every single network is contradicting one other! I had been checking the weather constantly for the past 24 hours trying to see if we should cancel our shoot because of rain or move the time to make sure we have enough light (if you've shot with me before, you'll know I'm obsessed with light). Lyndsay (bless her!) was so flexible and trusted me to make the weather call for her. My mission was to find the best light to get them the best family photos possible!

We decided to go ahead with the shoot as scheduled, and I'm so happy we did. Despite the weather prediction, we had a perfect evening with little clouds to make for a beautiful sunset. Shooting with the Wells family was a pleasure, they are so lovely and natural in front of the camera. There were so many beautiful and candid moments created and we had the BEST colors at sunset.

To the Wells family, thank you for holding your booking with me and taking the time to come out to Tsawwassen for your family photos. It was a pleasure to meet you guys and I really hope we can do it again in the future :)

Dueck Family Photos | Centennial Beach, Tsawwassen | Community Photography South Delta

One of the biggest compliments when your a family photographer is being asked to photograph a family whose mom, is a photographer herself! That was the case with the Dueck family. Mom Dayna has raised 6 kids (yes 6!) and is now pursuing her calling to become a midwife. And if you’ve met her, you’ll know she is going to make a pretty darn good midwife, that’s for sure!

The Dueck family photo session was at Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen. I love getting know local families, especially when they are as lovely as the Dueck family. The dynamic between them was kind, loving, respectful and fun. You could tell they really enjoyed each other’s company as they laughed and smiled through our photo shoot. Six kids later, you could tell mom Dayna and dad Stan were in love - just look at the way they look at each other in the photos! So much love, so much fun.

It was a perfect evening down at Centennial Beach for their family photos. Clear skies with enough clouds for a pastel sunset.

To the Dueck family, thank you for spending a wonderful evening at the beach with me! Your family is an absolute joy and I’m so happy to have connected with you!

A + E CENTENNIAL BEACH PHOTOS | SOUTH DELTA | TSAWWASSEN FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER

It was a cold, rainy and windy evening in Tsawwassen on the day of this photoshoot. Being a photographer in Vancouver you come to embrace these conditions and make the best of them! You would never guess little Emily was cold, as long as she was cuddling and playing with her mom she was as happy as can be..

This is my go to location to take photos at Centennial Beach in South Delta. The beautiful Momma was rocking an Aritzia romper that seemed like it was made for her - just check out the back of it in the photos below! We had such a blast shooting (saying that I was the only one who had shoes on!), until we got rained out by torrential downpour and it was all worth it for these photos :)

Only in South Delta can you have a blast taking photos of a family and then skip across the street to pick up something off of Varage sale - double win for the day!
