A Family Photo Session at Centennial Beach with the Vincent Family

Summer is an amazing time for creating memorable family moments. There's no better way to capture these special moments than through a family photoshoot. This summer, I had the pleasure to work with the Vincent family in Tsawwassen for a fun and exciting family photo session. It was a beautiful evening with this sweet family, and I want to share it with you in this blog post.

The Vincent Family was full of love and energy, and each member brought their vitality to the photoshoot. The photoshoot took place at Boundary Bay, where the family got to play on the beach and have fun while I took candid shots of them.

As a photographer, I love capturing genuine moments of connection between families, and this is exactly what I did with the Vincent Family. I got to witness a family who had a special sense of closeness and love for each other, which was a joy to capture. The kids were so adorable, and I could see the love between the siblings, especially in their playful interactions.

They worked together to make each other smile and make sure that every family member had a chance to shine throughout the session. The parents were also one of the most fun and loving couples that I have had the pleasure to work with, and their love and chemistry were evident in the photos I captured.

As the family played on the beach, and I snapped away. I could see the joy in the kids’ eyes, and the happiness on the parents' faces as they looked at their children. The family photoshoot ended with the sun setting over the ocean in Boundary Bay.

In conclusion, the Vincent family photoshoot was a special day filled with joy, warmth, and love. Watching them bond and play brought joy to my work, and it's precisely the essence of why family photos are so beautiful. The resulting photos of the Vincent family were stunning, and I'm so happy to have been a part of their cherished memories. I hope this blog post inspires you to take beautiful family photos this summer, knowing that you can create memorable moments that will last a lifetime.

Can you feel it?

The shift in seasons is here - the evenings are darker, the sun is cooler, and while the sun is setting there is a chill in the air. I can feel myself bracing for the winter time, but then, we have evenings like this. Evenings when the Sawray family had their family photo session at Centennial Beach that reminded me why I LOVE the transition to fall.

The evening air is crisp and clear which makes for the most beautiful sunsets. Gone is the summer humid haze as we welcome pink skies and beautiful reflections off the water.

The Sawrey family showed up to their photo session ready to love, laugh and enjoy their time together. We knocked off their classic portraits in no time and spent the rest of the time playing on the beach and letting themselves be their true selves. It’s not just the photos, it’s the memories that go with them that make these sessions so special.

Now, if you scroll down to the very last photo, this may be in my top 10 of all time favorite pictures I have EVER taken. The color, the connection and her eyes just make me love everything about it!

To the Sawrey Family, thank you for spending the evening at Centennial beach with me! Although it was our first time meeting, I feel like I’ve known you all for a while :) Thank you for fun moments and sharing some fruit growing tips with me :)

How to Prepare for your Social Media Photoshoot

A photoshoot is one of the best investments you can make for your business in order take your brand to the next level.

In a content-driven day and age, brand photos that accurately reflect who you are, what your brand is about, and the personality behind it all are a sure way to attract the audience of your dreams. Having good brand photography can do so much for your brand so I want to make sure we nail your shoot!

To help you prepare for your next photoshoot, I’ve decided to share a few of my favorite tips and tricks when it comes to shoots so you’ll be totally prepared and we’ll create images that you LOVE!

Plan, Plan Plan!

The key to a successful branding photoshoot is to plan a head! Create a mood board on Pinterest and share it with me. If you have any Instagram accounts you love to follow and aspire to be like, send them my way (and then we will make it your own :). Before going into a photoshoot you should have an idea of your target market and your brands personality (are you fun? professional? friendly?) . I’m here for you 100% of the way and want lots of back and forth so I can make sure I’m going to get images you’ll LOVE!

Go Pro: Hair & Make-Up

It looks amazing on camera and removes the stress of getting ready on your own.  Whether it’s lash extensions or blown-out hair, professional hair and makeup will give you an extra boost of confidence in front of the camera, and it always photographs like a dream. If you’re working with a makeup artist, have them apply your makeup in natural light (if possible) so that it looks fresh and not too heavy. Plus, that’s the type of light we’ll be shooting in, so it’ll give you the best expectation of how it will translate on camera. Most of my clients feel like their makeup is “too much” at first, since it’s more than they would wear on a normal day, so if you feel that way, don’t worry! Good makeup artists know how to get it just right for the camera — and my clients always love the final result. If you need a recommendation for hair and makeup, I'd be happy to pass along the artists I love working with! Just let me know and I’ll send you their information. I know they’ll take good care of you!

Choosing your shoot Location

The location of your portrait session is completely up to you! I shoot ‘natural light’ meaning using the light from the sun. To achieve the bright and airy look of my photos, a space that is, outdoor, open air environments are always my first choice. Or if your session is inside, a home or an office with big windows and white walls is my preferred choice.

What to Wear

When choosing colors for your outfits, I recommend selecting lighter, neutral tones and more muted shades. You can never go wrong with light neutral colors like cream, taupe, camel or light gray. The camera loves shades of soft pinks and muted blues, mixed with sophisticated light-colored neutrals. That softer, more pastel-leaning color palette fits beautifully with my editing style. Try to avoid colors like red, royal blue and bright yellow as these colors will ‘color cast’ your skin tone. You’ll also want to consider any colors you’ll want to incorporate into your Instagram grid to keep the look and tones consistent. Or do you have brand colors? If yes, then wear them!

Number of  Outfits

I recommend 2-3 outfits for a 1 hour photo session. I want to deliver photos that are diverse and look like they were taken on different days of the week. You may even consider having a blazer for some photos and taking it off for a few - it creates a total different look! You may want to also consider having on business or done up look and one casual outfit to bring out your personality in photos.

Styling your Session

I recommend bringing some props with you to make the images look more editorial. You may want to set up a picnic or incorporate another special element into your session like fresh flowers, a hobby you do or a family pet! If you are a business professional you may want to bring your laptop, notebook or cell phone to show you hustling your your clients.

Think Ahead

Take a look at your calendar and see if there are any important dates coming up in the next few months. Is it your birthday? An anniversary? Earth Day? Halloween? Consider bringing a prop to the photoshoot so you can have a specific photo to post on that special day.

You’ll also want to take into consideration the changing of seasons. If your photoshoot is in the summer time you may want to have a summery looks but bring in some elements or an outfit change for the fall time.

I’m here for you!

I know I just gave you A LOT to think about! Don’t panic :) Just take it one step at a time. And remember, I’m here for you! If you’re deciding between a few outfits and can’t commit, no problem! I’m here. If you love two locations but can’t make up your mind, no worries! I can help with that, too. If you need a recommendation of any kind, I’m on it! Remember, I’m just one email away :)

I’m so excited! See you soon!

Suprun Family Photos & 1st Birthday Cake Smash | Tsawwassen Family Photos

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my fav little families the other evening! I met Ana over Instagram last year; she was expecting her first child and looking for a photographer to capture this momentous time. We had two amazing shoots; her maternity shoot at 2nd beach at Stanley Park and at home newborn photos a couple months later. It was such a pleasure working with her that I was so thrilled when she reached out for me to take photos for her son's first birthday.

Leading up to the shoot, she would send me pics of her preparations for his 'cake smash' set up. Just check out the pictures, it turned out amazing! The actual cake smash didn't go totally as planned...lol baby wanted nothing to do with the cake and did basically anything not to touch it, let alone eat it! None the less, we still managed to get adorable photos :)

The rest of the shoot was easy and dreamy. They looked amazing and photograph so well as a family of three. Baby M was a little trooper as a cold ocean breeze blew in at the end of the session, but he had no problems cuddling with Mom and Dad.

Dear A + A, thank you for allowing me to capture all of these beautiful milestones in your life. It is a true honor and I love seeing you guys every time! I can't wait for our next session together!

JERICHO BEACH FAMILY PHOTOS | KITSILANO, VANCOUVER

As a Tsawwassen family photographer who lived in Vancouver for the good part of my 20s, I love any excuse to some back into the city. Especially when I can go to my old stomping ground of Kitsilano (beach volleyball anyone?!) to take family portraits. I’m in love with the white sand beaches, city landscape and the towering mountains. It makes me want to pinch myself that we get to call this gorgeous city our own!

I met up with the Morrison family for their family photos at Jericho this fall. Kate felt like an old friend after our correspondence back and forth organizing their photoshoot. I love a good !!!! in my e-mails and so does she! So I know we’d get along well :) Their son Luke was just over one year old. My favourite age to photograph. This age they are on the move and make me WORK for the shots, however, the result is always the most candid and genuine.

It was a crisp fall day for their family photos in Vancouver, which is always my favourite because it makes for a crisp and clear sunset. We had a blast taking photos on the beach and had the BEST sunset over the mountains.

Thank you Kate, Tim and Luke for coming to meet with me for your family portraits. I always love coming to Vancouver and it was especially made great because I met all of you! I hope we can do it again sometime soon :)

Welcome Baby Stevie | Tsawwassen Newborn Photographer | Community Photography South Delta

Preparing to welcome a baby into the world, especially your first, is an absolutely amazing time of life. There are so many milestones - 12 weeks, 20 weeks (and every week thereafter!) new nursery, new clothes , new sounds and new smells (not always good ones!), and of course new little fingers, new little toes and a new little heart to love. It goes so fast and so slow all at once, which is why I LOVE to help you remember those blurry first days/weeks/months for years to come.

I recently got to help my bestie document her journey from bump to baby and it was pure bliss. Knowing good friends for over 20 years is a blessing and to see them transition into motherhood is such a beautiful thing!

Jess and Geordie, congratulations on your family of FOUR! Love you guys long time, I’m so excited to raise our babes together :)

Stanley Park Maternity Photos | Community Photography South Delta

I’m a Tsawwassen girl, and to be honest, I don’t often venture out of our neighbourhood for photo shoots. Saying that, when a client suggests we shoot at a new location I’m always game! A new location is like a new playground for a photographer. When taking photos somewhere new, it sparks your creativity and allows you to play with new light and landscapes. When beautiful momma to be, Ana suggested we take her maternity photos at Stanley Park in Vancouver, I was super excited! I asked my wedding planner sister Briar of Epic Events for suggested shoot locations in the area as she often does weddings at the Tea House and other Stanley Park venues.

She suggested 2nd beach, when I went to scout out the location, fell in love with right away. The reason I loved it for the maternity session so much was within a 5 minute walk, you went from a beautiful forest setting to a Vancouver beach landscape.

When I met up with Ana and Alex for their maternity photos, the first thing I noticed was Ana’s stunning dress choice and her flawless makeup. The gorgeous couple, and Ana’s perfect little baby bump made for such a dreamy team for the forest photos. As the sun was setting, we took a five minute walk and quick outfit change that brought us down to 2nd Beach for the second half of our maternity photo shoot.

Once again, Ana totally nailed her outfit choice with a soft pink dress that would compliment the sunset perfectly. At this point in the photo shoot we are all relaxed and having fun, which you can totally see through their photos.

Ana + Alex, thank you for choosing me to capture such a milestone moment in your lives. It was so wonderful meeting you two and thank you for allowing me to venture out of Tsawwassen to take your maternity photos!

R + B Couple Photos Session | Centennial Beach Tsawwassen | Community Photography South Delta

Ray Win and Bruce are two of my kids favorite people. I’ve known them for 2 years now when I trusted Ray Win with the day to day care of my children at her daycare. As a mother, choosing a daycare is hard. Harder than I ever imagined. I went to check out a bunch when Tom was one and immediately when I walked into Ray Win’s I knew this was the place I wanted to send my kids. Georgia, will always reach for Ray Win when we arrive in the morning and is so happy when I leave her for the day. Bruce began calling my son Tommy Gun and now Tom insists that’s what we call him. Bruce, I’m not sure I’ve told you this, but when Tom see’s you at daycare, he talks about it, a lot LOL!

We planned their photo session originally in November. They had just eloped in Hawaii and wanted to do some local portraits. After our photo session was rained out 3 times we decided to wait for the summer and I’m so glad we did!

I met Bruce and Ray Win down at Centennial Beach. It was a perfect evening. Warm with light cloud cover, I knew we would have a beautiful sunset. We spent the hour we had together just having a good time. They were so relaxed and we just took our time capturing some great photos.

Ray Win and Bruce, thanks for hanging out with me at Centennial Beach for your photo session. It was such a good time! I really hope we can do it again soon! You guys are a dream to photograph!

CENTENNIAL BEACH MATERNITY PHOTOS | TSAWWASSEN, BC| COMMUNITY PHOTOGRAPHY SOUTH DELTA

When I first met K + M at Centennial Beach for their photo session, I knew in the first few minutes of meeting each other, it was going to be an amazing shoot. For a few reasons. First, they brought a bottle of tequila as a prop for their photos (I’m a big fan of a good Margarita!). Second, I could tell right away from their energy they wanted photos that were natural, candid and how do I say it...not cheesy? Third, they told me that at the end of their photoshoot, they wanted to jump in the ocean. Some of my favorite photographers live in California and Hawaii and they always shoot their clients in crashing waves and playing in the ocean. Living in British Columbia I guess because of the weather 80% of the year, I guess I never really considered WE live in a place where I could pull this off..was I so wrong!

We had a beautiful evening and I don’t think either M or K stopped smiling the whole time. When the sun was just about to set we made our way to the water. Luckily for us, the tide had just came in and the water was so warm. I can’t wait for you to see the photos so instead of me blabbing on, just scroll down!

To K + M, thank you for taking the plunge! I loved having my creative juice’s flowing and allowing me to capture something new. I know your little baby will have endless adventures with you two as parents!

To any future clients wanting to end their photos in the ocean. I’m totally down all the time!

Centennial Beach Family Photos | Tsawwassen, BC | Community Photography South Delta

I met up with Indy, Matt and there adorable son Adrian at Centennial Beach in sunny Tsawwassen for their family photos. I’m not sure if it was the time of day, the setting, Indy’s dress or ALL of the above, but the color tone of these photos are so magical. Well, almost as magical as Adrian’s smile throughout the shoot :)

Adrian honestly made me feel like the funniest person on the planet. He would laugh and smile at all my ‘jokes’, which included playing peek-a-boo, tickling him with a soft plant, making funny faces. As long as he was cuddling with his mom and dad he was a happy camper.

Indy and Matt, thanks for allowing me to capture your family photos. You guys have such a happy, fun little boy and you all were such a pleasure to photograph!

K + J CENTENNIAL BEACH MATERNITY PHOTOS | TSAWWASSEN | TSAWWASSEN PHOTOGRAPHER

Jeannine + Kevin met me at Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen on a beautiful spring evening for their beach maternity sessions. The day had been cloudy and we even touched base earlier in the day with the possibility of rescheduling due to weather, but I’m sure glad we didn’t. We enjoyed the most beautiful sunset and gorgeous light as they celebrated the coming arrival of their first baby.

J + K thank you for choosing me to capture this special time in your lives. Your baby is one lucky little guy to have parents like you!

Welcome Baby Emmie | Newborn Photos | Community Photography South Delta

I first met the Camire family at Centennial Beach for their maternity photos in Tsawwassen a few months back. The day at the beach was sunny but windy, bringing in a cold ocean breeze. Sweet little Isla was such a trooper for their cold and windy photo session. So when I went to the Camire’s house for their newborn photos, I knew Isla must remember me as the lady who made her play at the beach when it was FREEZING! And when I saw her at their house on a sunny and hot May afternoon, I said to her, ‘Hi Isla! Do you remember me?! We took photos at the beach together!’ all she said back was ‘it was cold’. LOL!

I thought I would have to regain her trust and take some time with her to warm up in front of the camera. I was totally wrong! On a scale of 1-10 how well behaved little Isla is, she was a 12. She loved cuddling her new baby sister Emmie and was so proud when it was her turn to hold her. Isla absolutely shone at the end of the session when we had a family dance party in the living room. This is the way I like to end most of my newborn sessions (if there are young siblings), as it brings the energy back up and creates beautiful genuine moments.

The Camire family, you guys are such a pleasure to spend time with! Thank you for inviting me into your home to take your newborn photos :) It was such an enjoyable afternoon and I look forward to the next time we can take photos together. Congratulations on baby #2, you guys are totally rocking the two kid thing :)

Welcome Baby Monroe | Newborn Photos | Community Photography South Delta

If you’d like to see the most gorgeous at home newborn photos, scroll down!

Congratulations to the Bird family on welcoming baby #3 into their family! This sweet newborn, is baby Monroe (just LOVE that name). She was a dream to photograph (I don’t even think she woke up at any point during our photo shoot!) She was SO chill and just did what a third child does, went with the flow.

As a newborn photographer, I LOVE the dynamics when a third child is added in the mix. I’m not sure what it is, but it totally makes the family look complete. Speaking of complete, can we just take a moment to applaud Mom Nikki on her absolutely amazing job on color coordinating her troops!! Even the swaddle choice totally completes the package. Well done girl!

The Tsawwassen newborn session, was a quick and easy experience. I always allow up to three hours in case a kid needs a snack, diaper change or a cuddle. I think this may have been a record 1.5 hours and it was a wrap! Both older siblings were a 10/10 in behaviour and LOVED to cuddle their new little sister. Daddy Bird was just like baby Monroe and went with the flow of the shoot :) You can see three babies in, mom + dad were a super team, and you can tell from the pictures, really in love.

Thanks to the Bird family for spending the afternoon with me allowing me to capture your expanding family. It was truly a pleasure! You guys are just nailing the three kid thing, you may even trick the rest of us into the having another baby because you make it look so enjoyable!

Bloom Tulip Festival Photo Shoot - Abbotsford, BC | Natalie Langston + Pierce | Community Photography South Delta

If you want to see a baby smile for an hour consecutively, take them to the Abbotsford Tulip Festival!

I was awake at 3:45am and on the road, leaving Tsawwassen at 4:15am to make it for a sunrise photo shoot at Bloom - Abbotsford Tulip Festival. When I arrived, the sky was a soft blue with the sunlight slowly creeping up over the mountains. I’d never been to the tulip fields before and oh wow, was it a sight to see! Endless rows of tulips spread out over endless farm land.

I met up with Natalie just before sunrise for our photo session. Natalie is an accomplished Canadian TV personality and Momma to her beautiful baby boy Pierce. If I thought I deserved a pat on the back for waking up early, this girl deserves a trophy! She looked AMAZING, arrived earlier than me to tend to her babies needs and was all smiles. The. Whole. Time!

We spent the next hour playing in the tulip fields while taking photos. Pierce was so happy to be surrounded by the colors, smells and cuddling with his mom. Natalie was a dream to photograph and her Wilfred dress choice such a perfect choice for the delicate flowers. There were only a few other people out in the fields at this time, but we had a whole bunch of cows meters away checking out our situation.

As a family photographer, I’m SO passionate about taking photos of motherhood. I’m also am passionate about working mothers who are finding a balance pursuing a career they love, while being a rockstar moms. And Natalie is TOTALLY one of those ladies, finding the balance between the two!

I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I LOVED taking them :)

CENTENNIAL BEACH ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS | COMMUNITY PHOTOGRAPHY SOUTH DELTA | TSAWWASSEN

The sky! Her dress. And the way he looked at her!

I’m just swooning over K + T Centennial Beach engagement session in Tsawwassen. I love to leave plenty of time for engagement photos. This is the time I get to talk to the couple and get to know them. I’m photographing their wedding after all!

I met the couple in the parking lot at Centennial Beach. The first thing I notices was how AMAZING they both looked! I like to think of the beginning of our shoot as the ‘warm up’. I generally get the couple to do things that may FEEL super awkward, but look GREAT on camera! They we’re both such great sports and we captured the most beautiful moments. Once the sun starts to set and we enter the ‘golden hour’, that’s when we will head down to the beach for sunset photos.

I loved when Kathleen said, ‘so we’ve done lots of belly smooshing photos, can we just take some fun ones?’ LOL! Yes! I’m all about collaboration so they pulled out their sunnies for some casual fun photos.

As the sun set over boundary bay, the most beautiful pastel sky finished off their engagment photos. The wind picked up lightly and holy smokes, they looked stunning being photographed at the edge of the Pacific Ocean.

Kathleen and Tyler, thank you for letting me capture your photo session. As a Tsawwassen family photographer, to be able to capture two adults so in love, makes such a welcome photo shoot.

Tsawwassen Newborn Photos | At Home Session | Community Photography South Delta

When my son Tom was born, it took about 6 weeks until I realized he was mine. To keep. Forever! I know this sounds so strange, and your probably thinking ‘yeah girl, that’s why you have kids, to raise them!’. I just found being a new mom, the love you experience with your baby is a new love, one you have never experienced before. The love is so intense I found it hard to get my head around. You just created this tiny human, you love it SO much, and the best part is, it’s yours to love forever!

When I was photographing first time mom Kritika, I could tell she was experiencing these same emotions that I was experiencing with Tom. The loving way she looked at her baby girl, and she even said a few times in our shoot ‘I just can’t believe I get to keep her’.

The only way I can describe our newborn shoot together was dreamy. We had a dream baby to photograph, she slept the most of the newborn photo session and when she was awake, she would look around the room with her big beautiful brown eyes. Kritika was such a cool mom. She allowed me to try my new baby wrapping techniques on her daughter (which turned out super adorable by the way), and was so photographic and natural in front of the camera it made my job so easy. They family cuddled, loved and enjoyed their time together for our 2 hour photo shoot.

I also had the pleasure of working with Elisha Sander of Haymaker makeup. She arrived at the house 45 minutes before the photoshoot with her mobile studio. Having a professional makeup artist makes for such beautiful photographs, and the big bonus, you can cuddle your sweet newborn as you get pampered! I’ve included some of the getting ready photos, so you can check them out below!

Diefenbaker Park Family Photos | Tsawwassen Family Photographer | Community Photography South Delta

From the moment I met the Malinek family in 2017 for a family photo session, I knew they were a special family. They are all kind and sweet and you can tell they all enjoy each other immensely. Fast forward a year and I was lucky enough to take their photos again.

When I arrived at Diefenbaker for their photo shoot, the first thing I noticed was Mom Ashili’s stunning red dress. I knew, at some point in the photoshoot, she would need to be twirling.

On every family photoshoot, I bring a white blanket for the families to cuddle on. I came to own the blanket after I noticed it at my moms house. The blanket is a unique white quilt and a perfect rectangle for families to sit on. The patch work is well made, it has served me well for the past couple years. My mom, who is an avid thrift store shopper, came across it a few years back at the Delta Hospice in Tsawwassen.

I pulled the white blanket out for the Malinek family to sit on during their family photoshoot. Ashli took one look at the blanket and noticed SHE was the one who made it! Ten years ago, she hand made that exact blanket, her initials were even hand sewn in the corner. Such a small world! She had given it to thrift years back. And here she was, with her family sitting on it.

To the Malinek family, thank you for spending the evening with me at Diefenbaker. You guys are always a pleasure to take photos for. I love seeing from year to year the way your boys grow into lovely little men. Ashli, thank you for making and passing along your beautiful blanket!

A Very Special Centennial Beach Family Session | Community Photography South Delta | Family Photos

“Tomorrow, they’ll be a little older than they were today. Today is a gift.”

I was first introduced to Sharon through my sister Briar. Briar and Sharon work together in the wedding industry. Sharon, however, for the past year has been on a leave from her job so she could be by her oldest sons side as he battled an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Cameron, Sharon's seven year old son, in the past year has undergone numerous surgeries, along with chemo and radiation. When Sharon was with Cameron in the hospital, they made a list of things they wanted to do once they were out. For Sharon, family photos were at the top of her list.

I arrived to Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen 20 minutes before the session began and it was raining. It had actually been raining the past 2 weeks. The session was date sensitive as a key family member was only in town for a couple days. There was no rescheduling for weather. I pulled my umbrellas from my car, however, minutes before we began shooting the rain stopped.

The dynamic between the family was loving, kind and fun. Mom Sharon has an infectious smile and they all laughed super easily. Both boys, took to the water. Mid winter in Vancouver and they were jumping over the waves in their boots. The light broke through the clouds as we were finishing our session. It was a perfect afternoon.

To the Bulger family, your courage and love can be seen from miles away. Allowing me to capture your family photos has been a privilege. Thank you for allowing me to capture this special moment for you :)

The story of how WE met

Janelle (the beautiful mamma to be in these photos) and I go WAY back. Back to grade one at Beach Grove Elementary, here in Tsawwassen. She’d moved from Toronto and we became fast friends. She was bright, had a big imagination and was FUN. After one of our first play date, my Dad came to pick me up. He noticed a family photo sitting on the counter. He asked her Mom “Hey! How do you know Don?!”. My dad (who also is also from Ontario) had recognized one of his high school friends, which turned out to be Janelle’s Uncle.

This realization blew both of our 6 year old minds. We decided, since MY dad and HER uncle used to be friends, WE must be related.

The funny thing about this story? 25 years later, we still tell SO many people THIS story. Even if they want to hear it or not..

ABOUT THE MATERNITY SHOOT

Holy smokes I don’t think I have EVER been so cold taking photos. I was bundled to the max (scarf, boots, multiple layers) and I was FREEZING! SO you can imaging how cold Janelle must have been! In a dress, in December strutting her beautiful pregnant belly up and down Centennial Beach. She made the photos not look like winter, but a beautiful spring day! We had an absolute blast, as we always do :) If you scroll to the very end of the gallery you can see some behind the scene pics!

Janelle and Steve, the way you have chosen to live your lives with joy, music, adventure and love is such an inspiration to those around you. I can’t wait to come to Calgary and meet your little bundle of joy!

Centennial Beach Family Photo Session | Tsawwassen | Community Photography

It was a perfect winter day for a Centennial Beach photo session. It was cool, but not cold. No wind. A perfect sunset. I connected with Mom Katie through Instagram and was so happy how excited she was for her photo session. I always ask families to fill out questionnaires before the photo session so I can get to know them a little better. Katie, a couple times mentioned how her two boys were her world. By the end of the session, I could see they were her world and she was theirs.

The boys were busy. Which I LOVE. The energy was positive and fun which makes for the best candid photos. Right off the bat to our Centennial Beach photo session both of the boys had sticks in hand that would be with us for the rest of the shoot. Mom Katie, was relaxed and enjoyed the moment. We played, laughed and went with the flow of two boys. What I loved seeing the most was the boys always resorted back to Mom for a cuddle. Every time one of her boys came to her, she took time to enjoy the snuggle, never rushing a moment.

Katie, thank you for letting me capture you and your boys. It was such a pleasure to spend the afternoon with you guys :) Here are a few of my many favourites!
