There’s something incredibly special about photographing another photographer — and this maternity session at my Community Studio in Tsawwassen was such an honour.
This beautiful couple is expecting their very first baby, and the excitement between them was undeniable. As a local photographer herself, trusting me to document this season of her life meant so much. When someone who understands light, angles, and storytelling steps in front of your camera — it’s the highest compliment.
A Community Studio Maternity Session in Tsawwassen
This session took place in my natural light Community Studio here in Tsawwassen. The studio is designed to feel warm, relaxed, and intimate — a calm space where couples can slow down and really soak in this fleeting season before baby arrives.
From the moment they walked in, the love between them was so evident. The quiet smiles. The gentle hands resting on her growing belly. You could feel how ready — and how excited — they are to become parents.
Two Looks, Two Beautiful Vibes
One of my favourite parts of this session was her outfit change.
She started in a stunning dress that felt modern — something that highlighted her beautiful baby bump in such an elegant way. Then she changed into a more casual look with jeans — and I absolutely loved it.
The shift gave the session a modern, relaxed feel. It felt authentic and grounded, like a glimpse into their everyday life together. Bare feet, denim, soft light — it was effortlessly beautiful. I always encourage mamas to consider a second outfit because it adds variety and allows different sides of their personality to shine.
As a Tsawwassen maternity photographer, these are the sessions I cherish most — the quiet, connected, love-filled ones that don’t need elaborate setups or dramatic posing. Just two people completely in love and on the brink of the biggest adventure of their lives.
I cannot wait to see them step into parenthood. Their baby is already so incredibly loved.
