Some evenings just feel extra special — and this maternity session at Centennial Beach was one of those unforgettable nights.
It was easily one of the best sunsets of the year.
As a maternity and family photographer based right here in Tsawwassen, Centennial Beach will always be one of my favourite locations. The wide-open sky, the soft sandy shoreline, the tall grasses, and the way the sun melts into the horizon over Boundary Bay — it creates the dreamiest golden glow for maternity photos.
And this beautiful family made it even more magical.
The Sweetest Family of Four (Almost)
This session was all about celebrating the final weeks before baby arrives. Mom, dad, and their adorable big sister came dressed in soft, neutral tones that photographed beautifully against the warm sunset colours.
Mom was absolutely radiant — glowing in that effortless, natural way that happens when you’re surrounded by love. She carried herself with such grace and calm excitement. Dad was steady and supportive, always just a step behind her, ready with a smile or a gentle hand on her growing belly.
And big sister? She completely stole the show.
She twirled in the sand, held mom’s hand proudly, and wrapped both arms around that baby bump like she already knew her most important job was about to begin. Watching her cuddle up beside her parents as the sun dipped lower was one of those moments that makes my job so meaningful.
One of the Best Sunsets of the Year
The sky that evening was unreal. Layers of warm peach, soft pink, and golden light stretched across the horizon. The kind of sunset that makes everyone pause and say, “Wow.”
Golden hour at Centennial Beach has a way of slowing everything down. The light becomes soft and forgiving, the breeze settles, and families naturally lean into one another. It’s relaxed, organic, and full of connection — exactly how maternity sessions should feel.
We kept the posing simple and natural, focusing on movement and genuine interaction. Walking along the shoreline. Quiet forehead kisses. Big sister’s giggles. Hands resting gently on a growing belly.
Why I Love Maternity Sessions in Tsawwassen
There’s something so special about documenting families in the place they call home. As a Tsawwassen photographer, I feel incredibly lucky to have access to locations like Centennial Beach. It offers that coastal, West Coast beauty without ever feeling crowded or busy — just open sky and endless light.
This session was a beautiful reminder of what maternity photography is really about: connection, anticipation, and soaking in these final moments before everything changes in the most wonderful way.
Baby is already so loved — and after a sunset like that, it truly felt like the perfect beginning to their next chapter.
