Fall is such a magical season for family photos, and this session at Deas Island Park was the perfect reminder of why I love it so much. Cooler air, rich colours, and that soft golden light that feels cozy instead of bright—it’s a dream setting for meaningful family photos.
I met this lovely family of four on a golden fall evening: mom, dad, and their two boys. This age is such a sweet spot for family photography. The kids are full of energy and personality, but still love being close to their parents. There’s lots of laughter, movement, and genuine connection—my favourite things to capture.
Deas Island Park is one of my go-to locations in the fall. The tall trees, winding paths, and changing leaves create such a beautiful, natural backdrop. As we wandered through the park, the boys explored, joked around, and leaned into those natural sibling moments that can’t be staged. Nothing forced—just real life, documented.
As the sun began to set, we made our way down to the dock to finish the session. The light was golden, the water was calm, and the fall foliage surrounding us felt straight out of a storybook. Ending a session there felt like the perfect full-circle moment—peaceful, warm, and timeless.
As a Tsawwassen family photographer, my goal is always to create images that feel authentic and true to your family. Fall sessions like this one are about slowing down, embracing the season, and capturing your family exactly as you are right now—because these stages pass quicker than we realize.
If you’re considering a fall family photography session in Tsawwassen or South Delta, Deas Island Park is an incredible option. You can view more of my work or book a session through www.communityphotography.net. I’d love to capture your family in this beautiful season.
